Semi Truck Engine Swaps & Replacement

Semi truck engine swaps and engine replacement in Sumner, WA — remove the old engine, fit a new, rebuilt or custom-built one, and integrate everything so the truck goes back to work.

The work, done right

When an engine is beyond an economical repair, or you simply want a different engine in a truck that's otherwise worth keeping, an engine swap is the answer. Our Sumner shop handles the whole job: pulling the old engine, fitting the replacement — new, rebuilt, or one of our own custom engine builds — and integrating the mounts, cooling, exhaust and aftertreatment, wiring and driveline so it runs the way it should. Every swap ends with a full inspection and road test before the truck leaves. The frame, cab and everything you know about the truck stay; only the part that failed changes.

Questions & answers

Engine Swaps — FAQs

Common questions about this service. Need something specific? Reach out and we'll walk you through it.

Engine swap or rebuild — which one do I need?

It comes down to what's wrong and what you want. If the block and major components are sound, a rebuild is usually the economical path. If the engine has catastrophic damage, or you want a different engine or power level, a swap makes more sense. We diagnose first and lay out both options with honest numbers.

Can you swap in a custom-built engine?

Yes. Many swaps pair with our custom engine builds — we build the engine to your application in the shop, then install and integrate it in the same place. One shop, one plan, one result.

What's involved beyond the engine itself?

More than most people expect: mounts, cooling, exhaust and aftertreatment, wiring, and matching the transmission and clutch to the new engine. Getting those right is what separates a swap that runs for years from one that's back in the shop in a month.

Does the truck need to come to the shop?

Yes. An engine swap is shop work — it needs the lift, the equipment and the controlled space our Sumner facility has. If the truck can't make it in under its own power, call us and we'll help you sort out the logistics.
